ABOUT

King’s Guidance Resource Centre (KGRC) is a charitable and educational initiative committed to providing accessible, quality education to children in need — both local and foreign. Our goal is to nurture every child’s potential through formal, informal, and non-formal education, while also developing strong values and character.

King’s Guidance Resource Centre (KGRC) is operating under the registration THE TRUSTEES (INCORPORATION ORDINANCE 1951 CAP.148 SABAH).

King’s Guidance Resource Centre (KGRC) was established in February 2023 in response to the urgent need for accessible education among stateless and migrant children in the Penampang District of Sabah. Founded in collaboration with Grace Covenant Community Sabah (AoG) with a vision of inclusivity and compassion, the centre opened its doors with 30 students — primarily from the Filipino community — and quickly became a safe haven for learning, growth, and hope.

Today, KGRC provides an 10-year elementary education pathway, enrolling children aged 6 to 15 from Kindergarten 1 & 2 through Grade 1 to Grade 8. What started as a small initiative has since grown into a full learning centre offering pre-school, kindergarten, elementary, and secondary levels. KGRC is home to over 100 students, with a diverse student population made up of both local and foreign children, many from poor or undocumented families who would otherwise have no access to formal schooling.

Supported by dedicated teachers, volunteers, and community partners, KGRC continues to be a beacon of hope — empowering children through education, character development, and care.

We believe that every child — regardless of background or status — has the right to a quality, systematic education. We envision a future where our students grow to become peaceful, empowered, and positive contributors to society, equipped with knowledge, values, and dignity to face the world.

KGRC exists to:

  • Bridge the educational gap for stateless and migrant children in Sabah through alternative learning pathways.
  • Foster literacy and lifelong learning by creating engaging environments like our school library and literacy programs.
  • Promote peace, self-worth, and cross-cultural understanding, embracing diversity within and beyond the classroom.
  • Empower students holistically, ensuring they not only learn but grow in character, confidence, and community spirit.

Children are the world’s most valuable resource and its best hope for the future.”
